Weekly Link Round-Up #58
Man, it’s tough to get work done on my own site when I am so busy with freelance work. Slowly but surely, I am making progress, and I am hoping that by having some days off this month, I will be able to get it done soon. Here are the links that I found interesting this week:
- Cholesterol. I think having debate in the workplace is so important to reaching the best decision. This is why I think Obama will be successful in office; he is not just surrounding himself with “yes” men.
- 9 Information Design Tips to Make You a Better Web Designer Some nice tips that are focused more on the organization side than the design side.
- Cultivating Conversations Jason brings up the point that sometimes comments become overwhelming on blog posts. He suggests that the author should use “milemarker” comments so that readers can get a quick snapshot of the comments so far.
- The State of the Web 2008 Do you make websites? Take the survey.
- Six Valuable Things Web Design Clients Won’t Tell You I wish clients would admit things like this. I guess the solution to that is to educate the client.
- 20 signs you don’t want that web design project Wow, I can’t believe some of these things actually happened.
- Chris Pullman: What I’ve Learned Chris shares ten important lessons that he learned while working for WGBH for 35 years.
- Ten Things I Have Learned Milton Glaser’s talk from 2001 was also linked around this week. It’s great to see so many tips from these guys with so much experience.
- A List Apart: Issue 273 I know some about IA, but I definitely learned some new ideas while reading Flexible Fuel: Educating the Client on IA. I really hadn’t heard much about agile design, but Getting Real About Agile Design was helpful in learning more about it.
