Weekly Link Round-Up #33
Yeah, so I had an awesome birthday weekend. My girlfriend bought me a 46 inch HDTV for my birthday! Also, Sunday was my two year anniversary at Matrix. Crazy how time flies. Here is the stuff that I found interesting this past week:
- Getting Design Approval: The Single Mockup Theory I think that by providing only one mockup for clients to react to, it gives them the opportunity to get a feeling for the site and what goal it is trying to accomplish. When you show them multiple mockups, I think that the client really starts to compare the designs more, without thinking about the goal of the mockup.
- Pre-bid Discussions I think knowing how and when to turn down projects is a great skill to have.
- Unraveling the Secrets of WordPress’ Comments.php File Nothing new or groundbreaking, just a solid breakdown of the WordPress comments.php file.
- Applying Divine Proportion To Your Web Designs I love how thousands year old principles are still present in design today.
- Luke: Dean Kamen's wonderful prosthetic robot arm Ok, after just watching Idiocracy, it got my worried about how our world really could be getting dumber. After watching this video, it at least gives me hope that we aren’t. This is truly amazing.
- Good products don’t make up for bad service…but they help I love when normal everyday experiences can be learned from on how to improve your web product/service.
